Summer School 2018-Week 1 Day 2

For the second day on 'Insects,' the children learned the word, 'Metamorphosis.'
Today's insect was the butterfly.  We watched a video of how the caterpillar goes through a metamorphosis to turn into a butterfly.
The children learned that the butterfly goes through 4 stages: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and then into a butterfly.

For art, the children made a butterfly out of leaves.
They went outside to find the right-sized leaves to fit on their butterfly cut-out.
Their butterflies turned out great.

For math, the children had to make a pattern using a caterpillar.

Here are the pictures from today.

The younger friends made colorful butterflies using BINGO stampers.
 Great pattern!

The children enjoyed exploring the 'insects,' especially the ones that move on batteries.

Pool time is always the fun time!
