Week 4! Day 3!

We started today with our morning meeting. Today we introduced ourselves and shared about our homes. We then jumped right into our topic exploration. Now that we have learned a little about dinosaurs I wanted to know if anyone would want one as a pet. We were split almost in half with our answers! We took some time sharing what we voted for and why. Most of the friends who said no said that they were worried the dinosaur would eat them. The yes friends responded by saying they should only have a herbivore dinosaur as a pet! :)
We then had centers where students could move around at their own pace, work on different skills, and play with their new friends. This morning one of the student teachers helped make origami at the art bin station. We loved learning some new tips and tricks!
For story time today we listened to the story of a girl who begged her parents for a pet dinosaur. She had many great reasons and gave great examples of what they would do together. After the story we brainstormed some ideas of what we would do with our pet dinosaurs.Then during art we used pictures of ourselves to draw pictures of what we would do with our pet dinosaur.
During math we played dinosaur bingo! Students listened for numbers and then covered the dinosaur with the number on its belly. They tried to be the first one with all of their dinosaurs covered.
After lunch we cooled down in the pool! Thank you all for a wonderful day today!
